Csataképek a magyar szabadságharczból ... Kimnach László rajzai után készült fametszetekkel. Hatodik illusztrált díszkiadás
Jókai Mór's collection of short stories about the 1848–49 Hungarian War of Independence, issued in Budapest in 1899 as a sixth illustrated edition with wood engravings after drawings by László Kimnach, for a general Hungarian reading public. The plates are dark-toned narrative vignettes, many vignetted into ovals or irregular clouds of shading: sabre-waving hussars, lancers crowding a bedside, a body flung from a window, peasants in white shirts and wide trousers, useful for crowd silhouettes, raised-weapon gestures, and soft-edged illustration framing.
