Lord Maskelyne's Daughter. A story of the Northern Border ... Author's edition
A Victorian border romance by Mary Rosa Stuart Kettle, issued as an author's edition by J. Weir in 1880 for readers of circulating-library fiction. The nine plates are wood-engraved tailpieces and headpieces in fine black line: symmetrical sprays of ivy, vine and acanthus with rosettes, urn and volute centres, a crowned double-headed eagle, and a clustered rose, thistle, shamrock and holly emblem, usable as spot ornaments, dividers and small crests.
