Inside Out Library

Through the Wordsworth Country. [Illustrations] by H. Goodwin [text by] W. K. L.P

GOODWIN, Harry., KNIGHT, William Angus. · 1887 · Sonnenschein & Co. · 58 pictures

An illustrated topographical companion to Wordsworth's Lake District, drawn by Harry Goodwin with text by William Angus Knight, published in London by Sonnenschein in 1887 for literary tourists and readers of the poet. The 58 plates are soft-toned tonal landscapes in upright frames — lakes under cloud, fell ridges, wooded gorges with falling water, winding roads and small figures with sheep — usable as atmospheric backgrounds, gradient skies, and stipple-textured rock and foliage.
