Ernestine de Lacy, or the Robber's Foundling. An Old English Romance. By the author of “Angelina” ... etc., etc
A penny-serial Gothic romance of 1854, issued in London for a cheap mass readership and credited only to the author of "Angelina," with small wood engravings set into dense double-column text. The cuts are coarse, high-contrast blocks showing cloaked and plumed-hat figures in forests, cellars, vaulted prison passages and magic circles, useful for silhouetted costume figures, crude hatched skies and rough black-and-white scene vignettes.
