Warblin's fro' an Owd Songster. With an introductory sketch by W. Trevor. [Illustrated
Collected dialect verse by the Lancashire poet Samuel Laycock, issued in 1893 with an introductory sketch by William Trevor of Manchester for a regional reading public. The plates are small line-drawn headpieces and tailpieces: symmetrical sprays of oak, sunflower and wheat flanking round medallion landscapes with herons and cattle, plus scrolled cartouches with a grotesque mask and a fruit basket, useful as section dividers, borders and spot ornaments.
