A subscription county history of Lee County, Illinois, issued by Hill & Co. in 1881 for local landowners and businessmen who paid to appear in it. The plates are lithographed bust portraits of bearded and clean-shaven men in dark coats and bow ties, vignetted into soft stippled ovals, several captioned with facsimile signatures and the word "deceased".
