The Empire of the Tsars and the Russians ... translated from the third French edition with annotations by Z. A. Ragozin
Anatole Leroy-Beaulieu's multi-volume study of Russian government and society, translated from the third French edition by Zenaïde Ragozin and issued by G. P. Putnam's Sons in 1893 for English-reading students of politics and history. The plates here are the volume's printed ornaments: bilaterally symmetrical head- and tailpieces in fine black line, combining strapwork knots, acanthus scrolls, spiky palmette fans, small rosettes and a winged cherub head, usable as dividers, spot devices and frame corners.
