A Lost Son and The Glover's Daughter
Two novellas by the Whitby writer Mary Linskill, issued in London by T. Fisher Unwin in 1885 for the general Victorian fiction-reading public. The plates are chapter-opening initials in plain black outline: square-framed capitals filled with scrolling acanthus, daisies, tulips and urns of fruit, set against blank paper and usable as drop caps, monograms or vector ornament.
