Quicksands. A tale
A Victorian novel, "Quicksands. A tale," published in 1858 under the pen name Anna Lisle by Annabella Crawford, for British circulating-library readers. The plates are repeated chapter headpieces in fine pen line: symmetrical corner clusters of flowers and trefoil leaves, a scrolling vine rule between them, and a Roman numeral below, usable as rules, corner pieces and section dividers.
