Scrivelsby, the home of the Champions [i.e. the Dymokes, hereditary King's Champions]. With some account of the Marmion and Dymoke families. Illustrated

LODGE, Samuel. · 1893 · Elliot Stock · 33 pictures

A local antiquarian history of Scrivelsby in Lincolnshire and of the Marmion and Dymoke families, hereditary King's Champions, written by Samuel Lodge and issued in London by Elliot Stock in 1893 for antiquarians and genealogists. The sampled pages are chapter-opening initials cut in line, each letter set in a square panel of curling acanthus, berries and buds, printed light grey or black; useful as drop caps, borders, or stencil-like ornament stripped from the panel.
