Minutes of the proceedings of the Court of Common Council, 1823(-1845)
Official printed minutes of the City of London's Court of Common Council, issued in London by Thomas Henry Coe between 1823 and 1845 for the Corporation's members and clerks. Nearly every plate repeats the City arms: a shield bearing the cross of St George with an upright sword, flanked by winged dragon supporters, topped by a small crown-like helm and set on a ribbon reading DOMINE DIRIGE NOS, giving designers a compact heraldic device with clean line engraving, usable as a stamp, seal or masthead.
