A Guide to the Mineral Gallery ... With an Introduction to the study of Minerals. [By L. Fletcher
A visitor's handbook to the mineral gallery of the British Museum (Natural History), written by keeper Lazarus Fletcher and published in London in 1889 for museum-goers and beginning students of mineralogy. The figures are small wood-engraved and line diagrams: concentric coiled loops showing magnetic curves around a mineral specimen, lettered rhombic and hexagonal crystal outlines, and polyhedra drawn both as dotted-edge solids and as stepped stacks of cubes, usable as geometric motifs and scientific ornament.
