An antiquarian record of the Westminster Tobacco Box, a parish relic of St Margaret and St John, compiled by John E. Smith for the overseers of 1887 and printed in London by Waterlow & Sons. The plates reproduce engraved silver plaques in outline: trapezoids, ovals and shields packed with script and display lettering, scrollwork borders, portrait medallions, allegorical vignettes and civic arms, useful as engraved-label and ornamental-frame source material.
