A Victorian gift collection of love lyrics and valentine verses compiled by Charles Maurice Davies, published in London in 1875 for a general household readership of young and old. The wood-engraved vignettes show courting couples, crowded parlour groups, mothers with children and garden scenes, drawn in loose crosshatched line with wide crinoline skirts and open white backgrounds useful as spot illustration.
