In the Ardennes ... With ... illustrations by T. R. Macquoid
A travel narrative of the Belgian and French Ardennes written by Katharine Sarah Macquoid and illustrated by her husband Thomas R. Macquoid, published in London by Chatto & Windus in 1881 for British readers touring the Meuse valley. The wood engravings are finely hatched topographical views — cliff-top châteaux, river bridges, timbered village streets, carts and market stalls — many set as irregular vignettes that text wraps around, useful for textured landscape backgrounds and architectural spot art.
