Wood-engraved full-page landscapes, vignetted into soft oval frames with engraved quatrains below, run from bare winter woods and snow-covered streams to heavy summer foliage, harvest cottages and reed-fringed ponds, giving designers ready-made framed scenes, dense foliage textures and caption blocks.
