A collection of Eastern adventure tales by Charles Jodrell Mansford, published by George Newnes in London in 1894 for popular readers of magazine serial fiction. Twenty-six tinted plates signed A.P. set pith-helmeted travellers against idols, torchlit night camps and village doorways, each framed in a shaped cartouche or circle with a quoted caption underneath, useful for vignette borders and dramatic night lighting.
