Mr. Midshipman Easy ... With an introduction by David Hannay
Frederick Marryat's 1836 naval novel reissued by Macmillan in London in 1896 with an introduction by David Hannay, part of a set of Marryat reprints aimed at late-Victorian general readers. Full-page pen-and-ink plates signed Pegram show shipboard quarrels, deck work, monks at a cloister door and captioned dialogue scenes, drawn in open line with hatched shadow and blank surrounds useful for cutouts.
