Stories of Irish Life ... With illustrations, etc
A collection of Irish tales by Henry Martin, published in London in 1878 for general Victorian readers, with 51 wood-engraved plates and in-text vignettes. The pictures are narrative genre scenes of countrymen in billycock hats and frock coats bending over an injured man, reading a letter on a hillside, or crowded into a cabin doorway, alternating with small rocky coast and waterfall vignettes; useful for figure groups, period rural dress, and captioned plate layouts.
