A novel by Linda Mazini Villari, issued in London by T. Fisher Unwin in 1885 for the Victorian fiction-reading public. The plates hold no scenes, only printer's decoration: a symmetrical engraved headpiece of scrolling vine, paired rosettes, a footed urn and fleur-de-lis crest, repeated at varying ink weights, plus a title page for the publisher's catalogue set inside a dense floral border; usable as rules, frames and section dividers.
