The Lady of the Forest. [A novel
A novel of 1889 by L. T. Meade (Elizabeth Thomasina Meade, later Smith), a prolific British writer of stories for girls, issued in London with wood-engraved plates. The pictures are English woodland vignettes in fine line: clearings framed by trunks and foliage, distant fields and church spires glimpsed through arches of leaves, streams and gnarled hollow trees.
