The history of Miami County, Ohio ... Illustrated
A county history of Miami County, Ohio, issued by the Chicago subscription publisher W. H. Beers & Co. in 1880 and sold to local landowners and businessmen whose portraits and farms filled its pages. The plates are lithographic bust portraits of bearded men in frock coats, each with an engraved facsimile signature beneath, alongside small circular wood-engraved vignettes of river and town scenes, useful for period handwriting, vignette frames and stipple-shaded faces.
