A one-volume Victorian edition of Milton's collected poems, published by Ward, Lock & Co. in London in 1878 for general household readers. The pictures are faintly cut wood-engraved landscape vignettes: arch-topped headpieces of wooded riverbanks and small round medallions of waterfalls, useful as chapter headers, shaped frames, and pale tonal fills behind text.
