Letters sent Home. Out and home again by way of Canada and the United States; or, what a summer's trip told me of the people and the country of the Great West
A self-published travel narrative of 1874, written by William Morris of Swindon as letters home from a summer journey across Canada and the American West and issued by the author for British readers. The plates in the index are decorative wood-engraved head- and tailpieces rather than views: symmetrical sprays of ferns, ivy and vine leaves with small birds and a crouching hare, and scrolled acanthus cartouches centred on a human mask, useful as rules, chapter openers and spot ornament.
