Swindon fifty years ago,-more or less. Reminiscences ... of ye old Wiltshire towne ... reprinted from ye Swindon Advertiser
Reminiscences of old Swindon by William Morris, proprietor of the Swindon Advertiser, collected from his newspaper columns and printed at the Advertiser Office in the Wiltshire town in 1885 for local readers. The plates are triangular and lintel-shaped printers' tailpieces in fine line: foliate scrollwork, grotesque masks and dolphin heads, acorns, Tudor roses and star-filled roundels, useful as chapter closers, spot ornaments and symmetrical corner motifs.
