The English in South America
A survey of British settlement, trade and exploration in South America by Michael G. Mulhall, published in 1878 for English-speaking readers of the River Plate and Britain. The 23 plates are soft pencil-toned landscapes and townscapes set in rounded vignette frames, plus a ruff-collared sixteenth-century portrait head, offering designers hazy cliff and river scenery, low horizon panoramas, and framing shapes with feathered edges.
