Imprisoned in a Spanish Convent: an English girl's experiences, with other narratives and tales ... Second edition
A collection of sensational narratives and tales by journalist Eustace Clare Grenville Murray, issued in a second edition by Vizetelly & Co. in London in 1886 for general Victorian readers. The wood-engraved plates show captioned scenes of mid-century social life — courtroom and drawing-room confrontations, top-hatted men arguing in corridors, women in bustled dresses and bonnets, a wheeled invalid chair on a promenade — drawn in fine parallel hatching that reproduces well at small sizes and supplies period costume and gesture references.
