A three-volume-style Victorian novel of social life by E. Noble, author of "Dora's Diamonds," published in London by Bevington & Co. in 1885. The illustrations are small wood-engraved chapter ornaments: rose, shamrock, thistle and holly sprays wound on a scrolling stem, a snowdrop plant with exposed roots, and a strapwork-and-foliage headpiece for tailpieces, dividers and spot decoration.
