The Writings of Thomas Paine. Collected and edited by M. D. Conway
A four-volume scholarly edition of Thomas Paine's writings, collected and edited by Moncure Daniel Conway and published by G. P. Putnam's Sons in New York in 1894 for readers of political history and American revolutionary texts. The pictures are wood-engraved printer's ornaments closing chapters: symmetrical arrangements of urns, scrolled cartouches, acanthus, rosettes and paired birds in fine black line on cream paper, usable as rules, dividers and page furniture.
