Mottoes for Monuments, or Epitaphs selected for study or application ... Illustrated with designs by Flaxman and others
A Victorian compendium of epitaphs and monumental inscriptions compiled by Fanny Bury Palliser and M. A. Palliser, published in London in 1872 for clergy, masons and families choosing memorial wording. The line engravings after Flaxman and others show mourning figures and angels in low relief, framed tablets with lettered scrolls, and outline sprays of rose, poppy and ivy usable as borders and vignettes.
