Richard Parker, or, the Mutiny at the Nore. A romance. By the author of “Gallant Tom,” etc. [i.e. T. P. Prest
A penny-serial romance about the 1797 naval mutiny at the Nore, written by Thomas Peckett Prest and issued by Edward Lloyd in London in 1851 for a cheap weekly readership. The 63 wood engravings are captioned interior scenes with small groups of standing figures in Regency dress — cottage rooms, doorways, a chest of drawers, a woman weeping over a letter — printed coarsely at column width, useful for period costume, gesture and stock domestic-drama staging.
