Poems on Several Occasions ... published by Mr. Pope ... The sixth edition with additions
A 1747 London sixth edition of Thomas Parnell's Poems on Several Occasions, edited by Alexander Pope, printed for readers of fashionable Augustan verse. The pictures are letterpress printers' ornaments cut on wood or metal: symmetrical tailpiece vignettes built from urns, swagged drapery, acanthus scrolls and five-petalled blossoms, plus a winged cherub mask, usable as small dividers, corner motifs and repeatable border units.
