Pen and Pencil Pictures from the Poets. [With illustrations
An illustrated poetry anthology issued in 1866 by a British publisher, pairing short extracts from English poets with plates by several hands for the Victorian gift-book market. The plates are fine-line steel engravings of woodland: gnarled trunks, arched lanes, bare winter branches against snow, moonlit streams, each set in an oval or arched frame with a small solitary figure for scale, useful for vignette borders, tree silhouettes and dense foliage textures.
