The Curse of the Fevrills. [A tale
A Victorian three-part tale by Sylvia Penn, issued in London in 1888 by a temperance publisher for general novel-readers, with an advertisement leaf for its Temperance series bound in. The wood-engraved plates show interiors at close range — a woman across a bar counter from a clergyman-like man, and a candlelit bedroom with a sleepwalker and a body on the floor — useful for patterned wallpaper, single-light shadow, and melodramatic figure grouping.
