The Poet and the Painter; or Gems of Art and Song
An 1869 London gift book pairing short lyric verse with steel-engraved plates, issued for the Victorian drawing-room and album trade. The plates are soft stipple-engraved single figures, mostly young women in loose white drapery set against dark rock or foliage, framed in octagonal chamfered borders with couplets printed above and below; useful for tonal vignette frames, hand-lettered caption layouts, and gradient portrait backgrounds.
