Six semaines de vacances. [With illustrations
A French popular-science holiday narrative by Paul Poiré, published in 1880 for schoolchildren, who tour factories and railways over six weeks of vacation. The wood engravings are captioned technical figures — locomotive smokeboxes in section, disc signals on posts, a dyeing vat with an attendant — drawn in fine parallel hatching with cutaway interiors and plain captions, useful for machine diagrams and working figures.
