A short moral tale for young readers by Evelyn Whitaker, author of "Laddie," issued by the Edinburgh and London publisher W. & R. Chambers in 1894. The plates are repeated pen-line band ornaments in which a small perched or preening bird sits in a circular medallion, flanked by daisies, wild roses, berry sprigs and hatched rectangular panels; useful as chapter headpieces, tailpieces, spot motifs or repeating borders.
