Algiers the Warlike, and other poems
A volume of Victorian verse by John Henry Pringle, issued in Britain in 1846 for readers of sentimental and patriotic poetry. Each page of text sits inside an engraved border of trailing bindweed stems, buds and trumpet flowers drawn in fine line, giving designers repeatable full-page frames, corner flourishes, and slender vine motifs that can be lifted from the letterpress.
