Histoire de Grenoble
Auguste Prudhomme's Histoire de Grenoble, a municipal history of the Dauphiné city published in France in 1888 for local readers and antiquarians. The plates include Renaissance-style grotesque headbands and pendant tailpieces built from scrolling foliage, urns, sphinxes, masks and small figures, drawn in fine black line for reuse as rules, chapter openers and section breaks.
