Puck: his vicissitudes, adventures, observations, conclusions, friendships, and philosophies, related by himself, and edited by Ouida [pseud., i.e. Louise de la Ramée
A novel told in the voice of a dog, written by Ouida (Louise de la Ramée) and published in London in 1870 for the circulating-library readership. The plates here are small wood-engraved chapter tailpieces: holly, shamrock and Tudor-rose sprays, a laurel wreath tied with ribbon, a symmetrical triangular arabesque, and a stippled grotesque beast's head, all usable as spot ornaments and section breaks.
