Leaves from a Journal [by P. R., i.e. Patrick Robertson, Lord Robertson, illustrated with engravings from the works of several masters, and published at various times
A privately issued travel journal of 1844 by the Scottish judge Patrick Robertson, Lord Robertson, made up with steel and copper engravings taken from various earlier masters and published for a British readership of genteel Continental tourists. The 44 plates are tinted Italian views — Florence from the Chiesa al Monte, the Doge's Palace, the Roman Pantheon — with broad cloud-filled skies, small foreground figure groups, and engraved Italian captions.
