A short German-language popular history of Maria Theresia's reign in the province of Carniola, 1740-1780, written for general readers by Peter von Radics and published in 1881. The plates are wood-engraved decorated initials: heavy Fraktur capitals set in oval or shield cartouches with strapwork, acanthus scrolls and finials, printed in grey-black line on cream paper, usable as drop caps, monogram frames or ornament borders.
