Mary Price; or, the Memoirs of a servant-maid ... Illustrated with fifty-two engravings by F. Gilbert
A cheap-serial sensation novel by G. W. M. Reynolds, published by John Dicks in London in 1852 for a mass working-class readership, with fifty-two wood engravings by Frederick Gilbert. The plates stage two or three figures in doorways, parlours and porches: women in wide skirts, caps and bonnets, framed pictures, venetian blinds, upholstered chairs, a street lamp, all shaded in fine cross-hatching against blank paper.
