Young Folks' History of London ... Illustrated
A children's history of London by the American journalist William Henry Rideing, published by Estes & Lauriat in Boston in 1884 for young readers. The 102 wood-engraved plates reconstruct crowd scenes and city landmarks — an inn-yard play, a procession of billmen and archers, a snowbound funeral, Thames-side palaces — offering period costume, massed figures and architectural elevations in crisp black line.
