A Dutch commemorative history of the years 1848-1898 under King Willem III and Queen Emma's regency, written by various Dutch contributors under the editorship of P. H. Ritter and issued in 1898 for a general national readership. The plates are Art Nouveau line-block ornaments: boxed initial letters filled with stylised tulips, leaves and fan-shaped rays, plus symmetrical floral headpieces and tailpieces, usable as drop caps, rules and section dividers.
