A two-volume Spanish historical study of Pedro Menéndez de Avilés and the conquest of Florida, compiled with documents by Eugenio Ruidíaz y Caravia and published in Madrid in 1893 for historians. Plates reproduce sixteenth-century Timucua and French colonial scenes after Le Moyne and de Bry, alongside engraved headpieces of crowned medallion portraits framed by lances, arrows and sunflowers.
