A three-volume Victorian novel by John Saunders, published in London in 1879 for the circulating-library readership, held by the British Library. The illustrations are small printer's ornaments: symmetrical sprigs of holly, rose, shamrock, ivy and cornflower cut as flat black line, usable as chapter tailpieces, spot motifs, or repeating border units.
