Marjory Moore's Lovers
A late Victorian romance novel by Adeline Sergeant, issued in 1897 by the American publisher F. T. Neely for the popular circulating-library and cheap-reprint trade. The illustrations are printer's ornaments rather than scenes: symmetrical wood-engraved headpieces with scrolled volutes, acanthus and flower clusters under a ruled cornice, and smaller triangular tailpieces with lobed, cusped finials, printed in thin black line over visible text show-through, usable as rules, dividers and small repeating motifs.
