An Open Foe. A romance
A three-volume romance novel by Adeline Sergeant, issued by Richard Bentley & Son in London in 1884 for the circulating-library reading public. The plates are printed ornaments in a single red-brown ink: triangular tailpiece sprays of flowers and leaves, and a scrolled stem bearing a Tudor rose, usable as chapter-end marks, spot motifs, or repeat units.
