A one-volume Shakespeare edition of 1825, printed in London by Sherwood, Jones & Co. for the proprietors of the "London Stage," with text after Johnson, Steevens and Reed and a biographical memoir, illustrated by W. Harvey for general theatre-going readers. Each play opens with a small wood-engraved headpiece showing a cited act and scene: costumed figures in trailing gowns, doublets and plate armour set against arcades, pillars and garden walls, useful as compact figure groups, historical dress references and chapter-opening vignettes.
